What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that a website saves to your browser when you visit. It allows the website to recognise your browser on subsequent visits, remember things like preferences, and measure how the site is being used. Similar technologies — such as local storage, scripts and tracking pixels — work in much the same way.

Your choices

On your first visit you'll see a cookie banner with three options: Accept all, Reject all, or Manage preferences. Only strictly necessary cookies are set unless you opt in to a specific category.

The cookie categories we use

1. Strictly necessary

Required for the site to function. We do not set any first-party tracking cookies. A small amount of browser local storage is used to remember your cookie preferences themselves so we don't ask you again on every visit.

2. Functional

Enables embedded features. Only loaded when you opt in to the Functional category:

• Elfsight Google Reviews widget — loaded from elfsightcdn.com to display our live Google reviews on the home page. See Elfsight's privacy policy.
• Google Maps embed — loaded from google.com/maps on the contact and home pages to show our practice location. See Google's privacy policy.

3. Analytics

Helps us understand which pages are most useful and where we can improve. Only loaded when you opt in to the Analytics category:

• Google Analytics 4 — served first-party through camposdental.co.uk (the analytics library and measurement requests are routed via our own server before reaching Google). Your IP address is used only to derive your approximate location and is not stored by Google; we set no analytics cookies until you opt in. See Google's privacy policy or opt out globally with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
• Campos Dental Dashboard — our own first-party, privacy-first traffic measurement. It sets no cookies, never stores your IP address (it is hashed with a daily-rotating key for anonymous visit counts only), and keeps aggregate figures only. No data is shared with third parties.

4. Marketing / advertising

We do not currently use any marketing or remarketing cookies on this site. This category exists in our preferences panel so you can leave it switched off in advance.

Other services we use that don't set tracking cookies

• Instagram feed — our latest Instagram posts are shown on the home page. The images load directly from Instagram's servers (cdninstagram.com), which receive your IP address as part of delivering them. We set no cookies for this feature and it loads without requiring consent. See Instagram's privacy policy.
• Web3Forms — handles contact form submissions. When you submit the form your message is posted to api.web3forms.com and then forwarded to our practice email. Web3Forms does not place tracking cookies on the site but does process the personal information you submit through the form. See Web3Forms' privacy policy.
• Hosting / CDN — the site is delivered via a CDN provider, which may log standard request data (IP address, browser, referrer) for security and reliability purposes only.

Managing cookies in your browser

As well as our consent banner, every modern browser also lets you block or delete cookies through its preferences. Most browsers have a "private browsing" or "incognito" mode that blocks third-party cookies by default. Content blockers such as uBlock Origin or Brave's built-in shields prevent most third-party trackers from loading at all. Blocking everything may prevent embedded features (Google Maps, Elfsight reviews) from displaying.

Changes to this Cookie Notice

We may update this Cookie Notice from time to time to reflect changes in technology, regulation, or our own practices. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent change.
